Welcome, traveler — you've made it to Badger.
A scene-built, artist-calibrated, gathering tucked into Colorado's high desert built for music, art, and sonic transmissions from the astral plane.
Out here, we're far from the familiar world — and even farther from the commercial festival matrix. Here, the line between performer and participant is a polite suggestion we joyfully ignore.
Badger is intentionally intimate, with limited capacity so the environment remains personal, connected, and uniquely experienced. Under our humble high mountain star dome, we come together to create something rare: a temporary home for artists, free spirits, and anyone chasing that feeling of being exactly where they're meant to be.
Enjoy the transmission.
Sett of Values
A badger burrow is called a sett, and with as many sets as we book we couldn't let a good pun go untortured. What follows isn't a list of rules so much as a collection of shared understandings: the operating principles of a temporary world we build together in the desert. These ideas weren't drafted in boardrooms. They've been passed around campfires, argued over in the daylight, and slowly shaped by the collective realization that this thing only works if we all help hold it.
Radical Participation
You are not an audience member. We are not "the staff." This is a co-created sanctuary for weirdos, artists, dreamers, builders, sound sorcerers, and galactic insect communicators. Bring your art, your strange devices, your gifts, your rituals, your soft chaos. This gathering becomes what we make it — or what we don't. If you feel called to contribute something beautiful, bizarre, or deeply unnecessary, we are ready for you. (For offerings, inquiries, or prophetic transmissions: reach out)
Do It Yourself
Badger is built by the very hands currently reading this. Every stage, structure, sound system, shade rig, and art experiment exists because someone decided to make it real instead of waiting for permission. There is no production company swooping in to save us. This is renegade infrastructure, lovingly duct-taped into existence by the community. The magic of the gathering is a direct reflection of what we're willing to build, fix, carry, and create together.
Resilience
At 9,000 feet in the high plains desert, the elements will absolutely try to humble you. Expect wind that rearranges your chakras, dust storms that exfoliate your soul, thin air, cold nights, hot days, and weather that changes its mind constantly. This land will test us — and we will respond with adaptability, mutual care, shared labor, and a stubborn devotion to the collective experience. We suffer together. We thrive together. We look incredibly cool doing it.
Participatory Art
You are not here to spectate. You are the art. Every outfit, offering, sound, movement, installation, and late-night idea scribbled on a napkin becomes part of the living canvas. We reject passive consumption in favor of collaborative creation. Bring your strange, your beautiful, your half-finished dream projects. Together we will co-author the aesthetic reality of Badger — so please arrive with your goodest vibes and your most unhinged creativity.
Conscious Community
Badger is not just a party, it's a beautifully weird human experiment. Strangers become ride-or-dies through shared snacks, sunrise conversations, questionable dance moves, and collective surrender to the moment. This is a container for connection, healing, and accidentally oversharing under the stars. Show up real, show up kind, and watch the desert alchemize a bunch of chaotic individuals into a temporarily enlightened desert family.
Leave No Trace
The desert is our cosmic Airbnb and we are extremely grateful guests. Pack it in, pack it out, and leave nothing behind except foot wiggles, strange memories, and possibly a new personality. This land is ancient, sentient, and absolutely not impressed by your glitter trash. Respect the high plains, honor the dust spirits, and remember: the only souvenirs you're allowed to take are photographs and spiritual downloads from the mothership.
